The Site Supervisor, supervises and motivates the Facilities Maintenance team, in delivering superior customer service and ensuring compliance to corporate and regulatory guidelines, code, regulations and legislation, federally and provincially at multiple sites. The incumbent will work with management team members and enabling support functions in supervising account operations. Ensures appropriate training is provided to all operators in all aspects of safety and operational procedures and they have access to appropriate tools and equipment to uphold a positive corporate image for its reputation and service excellence.
Things You Are Great At:
Oversee and direct daily plant operations including planning and scheduling work for the FM team ensuring proper distribution of work via concept, staffing, space, equipment, and supplies for efficient performance of duties.
Coordinate and schedule the rotation of the plant team throughout the assigned areas, as business volume requires. Ongoing review of maintenance for facilities units to improve efficiency and utilization.
Monitor plant operation, adjusts, and maintains mechanical equipment such as chillers, boilers, air handlers and pumps to provide chilled water, steam, hot water, RO/DI and air conditioning to the facility
Respond to enquiries/requests from call center concerning such task entry and provide guidance to building operators.
Provide technical and mechanical repair and assistance in a 24/7 environment, and day-to-day problem solving and emergency response. Assist clients as required and liaise with operations staff
Schedule the maintenance of process equipment PM Program to minimize breakdowns and keep repair costs to a minimum, without compromising customer service standards. Coordinate strategic location of all backup equipment in the event of process equipment breakdown.
Recommend any required changes in operating procedures to the Contract Representative.
Establishes and maintains a professional, trusting and positive working relationship with clients
Ability to communicate performance expectations, monitor and reward performance to ensure
plans, goals and budgets are met
Develops and facilitates developmental experiences for effective job performance
Assists in selecting, training, and managing employees in addition to providing leadership and guidance to all operators.
Handles any required disciplinary action of corporate operators after discussion with Contract Representative and or Human Resources.
Ensures safe operation and procedures are adhered to by overseeing all building operator.
Manage, coordinate and report all emergency situations by determining nature of the incident, ensuring the safety and security of the facility, contacting emergency service, and organizing repairs and replacement equipment.
Primary operations contact for customers approved for delivery within the area of accountability.
Make sure all preventive maintenance as outlined by P.M. Concept which are issued weekly are done accordingly
Oversees 3rd party contractors for the safe and compliant operation, maintenance both corrective and preventive.
Responds to Fire Alarms as part of the fire response team
Familiar with the Quality Management system (CMMS)
Adheres to the occupational health and safety acts and other legislative enactment
Perform other related duties as required and as assigned by Contract Representatives.
Public Works and Government Services Canada, level 2 Secret clearance will be required.
Certificate of Building Environmental Systems – Facility Management or Stationary Engineer 4th/5th Class or equivalent experience;
3-5 years hands on experience in general maintenance in a commercial, laboratory equipment or industrial environment;
Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical blueprints;
What We Are Looking For:
Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, knowledge of Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS) and First Aid and CPR training;
Knowledge of Provincial Building Code & Regulations, Canadian Electrical Code, Provincial Fire Code and Electrical Safety Authority;
Computer literate. Knowledge of CMMS is an asset.

Positive outlook, good communication and interpersonal skills are required
Must be computer literate
Documented proof of Worker or Supervisor health and safety awareness training, as applicable (as per Ontario’s Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations).
