Job Description

The Special Project Manager will work with management team members and enabling support functions in managing bids. Responsibilities will include: the customer relationship, the bid process and submission through to award consistent with policy and processes. Working across the business as a champion to deliver a winning bid through effective leadership, inspiration and support of the bid team. The Special Project Manager shall ensure appropriate input from all internal and external stakeholders to achieve a tender submission and contract award that meets the requirements of Dexterra.

  • Convert strategic growth opportunities into successful and profitable contracts
  • Contribute to the creation of a bid strategy and provide clear direction to the whole team in line with that strategy.
  • Identify client win themes and critical success factors.
  • Develop strategies for responding to client win themes and for identifying clear differentiators.
  • Develop a bid programme and having identified necessary resources, secure support from Strategic Growth and Operational leaders
  • Develop an environment in which the team work in accordance with the Dexterra values and in such a way that this is evident to the Customer.
  • Ensure that submission documents are complete and fully responsive to formal and informal questions posed in the customers bid documentation
  • Determine the likely response of competitors and to seek to positively differentiate the Dexterra offering.
  • Ensure approval authorities are obtained in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that a high quality and compliant bid is submitted on time
  • Co-ordinate the necessary and appropriate management reviews during the bid process, including the presentation of Key Targets updates and bid proposals for review and audit.
  • Establishes and maintains key client and sector relationships and ensures client expectations are managed
  • Has overall accountability for the direction of services/contracts which may contain a degree of complexity and risk
