Outland-Carillion is Now Dexterra
TORONTO, Sept. 26, 2018 /CNW/ – Outland-Carillion Services, a Canadian facilities management provider owned by Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd., is excited to announce its new, permanent company name and unveil its new brand under Dexterra (“the Company”).
Following the acquisition of the services business of Carillion Canada by Fairfax Financial Holdings Ltd. in March 2018, the Company had adopted a temporary name, Outland-Carillion, before rebranding to Dexterra.
“We are very proud of our heritage, providing exceptional support services in Canada that date back over 70 years, and the work all of our employees have done to get here,” states John Mac Cuish, President & CEO of Dexterra. “Our new name and visual identity are symbolic of a new, unified foundation. Under one new brand with a shared vision and values, we have a solid platform from which to move forward together towards growth and demonstrating our leadership in the industry.”
The new name Dexterra was derived from the Latin phrase “manus dextra,” or “right hand,” implying the level of esteem and trust that clients in industries such as airports, defence, healthcare, retail and commercial property, mining, oil and gas, among others, place in their facilities management and operations partner. This partnership is also represented in the new logo – the “X” marks the exact spot where two sides come together to create something.
Management is confident that the rebranding strengthens the Company’s position to invest in growth opportunities and innovative solutions for clients and customers. Specifically, investment priorities include human resources, tools and technology to improve consistency and productivity, and a business data strategy to enable more effective decision making and, ultimately, better solutions for clients.
Management also confirms that this rebranding does not affect any service agreements.
